Style
All of our development is focussed on practical application with resources, tools and skills in order to build confidence and competence. We avoid ‘our stories’ to give a more holistic picture of the needs of trans+ people and the community based on years of supporting trans+ people in life as well as in the workplace.
We offer different styles dependent on the audience:
Working with practitioners (for example, healthcare professionals, student counsellors, LGBTQIA+ Group workers etc) and those that directly support trans+ people, we create an in-depth programme to help you understand the deeper needs of our community and to build expertise and empathy so that you can engage in a meaningful way with the work you do with our community.
Working with organisations that may have staff or team members who may be trans+, HR requirements for a more diverse culture or to understand the needs of the community for front-line or marketing people, or simply want to build allyship with individuals, we create a practical environment where organisational needs and requirements are considered to build confidence in supporting trans+ people in the workplace.
Programme One – Trans+ Awareness 101 - 60mins
This programme encapsulates and summarises many of the key issues around trans+ awareness and how to build awareness and acceptance. The programme is built around your needs and uses examples from ‘your world’ for content.
A short (20 minute) presentation covers off the fundamentals about trans+ people, including (for example)
· Definitions of what being trans+ is all about
· Pronouns and their use – and what to do if you ‘get it wrong’
· How to be an effective ally
· The differences between sex and gender
· How identity (including gender identity) is part of real lives
· The Equality Act and its use in practice
Following this session, we turn to your questions. These can be generated from your organisation in advance of the session or be stimulated at the session as a result of the reaction to the presentation.
It’s a chance to ask the questions you have always wanted to know in order to be able to support the community more effectively. We treat any question in the spirit of being relevant for development and are happy to work with people in that spirit.
Often people are looking for more objective data and reactions to what is happening or being reported in the media and tackles some of the ‘issues of the day’.
Some people often want to discuss a current ‘challenge’ or ‘situation’ they are dealing with (at work or in a personal life) and seek clarification or another ‘view’.
At the end of the session, delegates leave with a more balanced view of the overall picture about trans+ people and how best to support them in a practical way.

Session Titles
· Why DE&I initiatives fail to embed and deliver few, if any benefits
· How to build genuine leadership commitment (including skills) – moving people from ‘lip-service’ or tick-boxing to new leadership behaviours and attitudes
· Building a real-world implementation plan to address change fatigue and a short-term focus
· Adapting DE&I principles to apply to your specific organisation and to affect process
· Examining appropriate metrics (not just representation) to be able to ingrain change
· How leadership accountability fosters culture development and ensures each person links themselves to appropriate organisational KPI’s
· Address cultural resistance and build plans to address power structures and influencers
Outcomes
Too few DE&I initiatives make it past the door of the training room and this programme is focused more on practical embedding of concepts than theory or ideology.
This powerful programme builds on change management processes and creating cultural impacts that can be evaluated, rather than vague ‘promises’ or a sensation of optimism.
Beyond the Rainbow – How can the ‘tick box’ can become culture change
A practical guide for organisations who would like to realise the actual benefits of becoming more inclusive.
This 90-minute practical webinar will aim to cover off the benefits and some of the most practical steps that can be achieved to ‘tick the box’ for diversity so you can appear to be more authentic during pride seasons. We all know this is a good thing…if somewhat cynical!
However, it will also show the steps, simple policies and approaches that can harness diversity to create innovation in products, process, leadership and resulting benefits and changes in culture.
Recent case studies are discussed where approaches towards neurodivergence, the LGBTQIA+ community, disability and different cultural backgrounds have been blended to create significant returns.
The workshop will cover:
· The significant benefits of diversity
· Blockers and barriers to achieving those benefits
· Why HR and Operational Leaders can cancel out their efforts
· How to recruit, retain and develop people
· Understanding that the ‘control’ model of leadership sabotages empowerment and engagement
· Knowing how to operate
· The three most significant policies to promote diversity
· How diversity and conflict come together to create ‘adult’ and resilience organisations
